Painting Pear
From my sketchbook; bought a pear just to paint it. It had a funny unexpected shape and lots of color and texture. Set on a kitchen towel with side lighting. Good exercise in seeing.

Now this is a pear of a different color! Beautifully rendered and I like the imagined cloth underneath.
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting on my blog. Your paintings are really lovely. Simple pure, well drawn and lovely loose colors.
ReplyDeletea diine pear...and I love the cloth it is sitting on too
ReplyDeletewait. I meant that it is a devine pear. My "v" key sticks sometimes
ReplyDeleteLove the dark shape within the shadowed side of the pear. Great handling of a timeless subject!
ReplyDeleteThat pear looks good enough to eat! Pears have such comical shapes and beautiful mingling colors. I envy those such as yourself who can do these loose sketches so well!
