Drawn with 4 colors of Caran Dasch crayon and a wet brush - very quick. Our Plein Air group had a great reception last night, excellent turn out and we had the best three piece ensemble (Blue Grass) called the Red Cedar Shakes. It really was a chance for Portland Plein Air Painters to shine. Celeste has put up an album slide show if you are interested. More pictures are coming from other participants. Have a great day. I am!

Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Carrie, gorgeous color! I know there are stencil like plates with different elipses so one can quickly make a perfect oval. Frankly, I prefer a little wobbly but the hand of the artist. Perfection is over rated! I'm going to check out the slide show now.
ReplyDeleteWell done!! Congrats Carrie!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
I love the blue bowl...beauuuutiful! Your ellipse looks awfully good to me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Kalina. We should be getting 'debriefed about Portugal any day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea Myrna. I guess I need to do some practice because I seek near perfection. :)) or Maybe uniformity so the perspective reads well.
Franze, I see you have been painting and posting.Great!
Hi Celeste, Good luck in Vancouver today!
I agree with Myrna--perfection is over rated; this is beautiful. I find neat stuff at Good Will, too.
ReplyDeleteFabulous colour and transparent feel.
ReplyDeleteAs for ellipses, they are a challenge. Mike Sibley explains them fairly well. I hope this will help you too. http://www.sibleyfineart.com/tutorial--draw-ellipses.htm
Carrie, Your cobalt is just wonderful! Love it! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Hallie, Jeanette, and Dee, for stopping by. Your comments are helpful and appreciated.
ReplyDeleteCarrie
Carrie, this is gorgeous. I love the color, the wet look, the composition. The accuracy of the ellipses is irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about ellipses; I struggle with them all the time! I love the blue and I would not have thought twice about your ellipses had you not mentioned it. Festive!
