Corn Still Life

Painting out door still life in natural light is very satisfying.
Mid point - Developing greens, warm and cool
Corn on the ranch was late but colorful.  I took a few ears up to the chickens every day so by the end of two weeks they would start clucking and running to me when I was within sight.

  3. Hi Carrie, It's interesting, your corn still life reminds me of your abstract study you did a couple of weeks ago. It seems to have a similar movement. I like this one very much!

  5. Hey Carrie! This corn still life is beautiful! I love the darks and the abstract shapes you've worked in there. But, I have to say, if chickens started to come running toward me when they saw me coming, I would have to run away, jump on a chair, and scream like a girl!! You are made of sterner stuff! Have fun!

  6. Love this Carrie. It is a beautiful watercolor rendition. A simple subject, but shown in a way that lets us know its amazing beauty. Corny is A-OK.

  7. Thank you for your positive comments on the corn painting. I have been meeting the challenge of painting green. It takes practice to decide how much. (intensity, value, and temperature)I still have a ways to go but I certainly have fun trying.
Peggy, I think you noticed my leaning toward curvilinear forms. I know I could work some more in that area.
