From a live costume model (very competent) at the Monday night sketching evening at Canvas Art Bar on NW 18th and Upshur. More of other artists work can be seen on the Behind The Scenes Blog.
I so love this portrait, Carrie. You've captured that curly hair beautifully...There is a sense of wildness and gypsy in this piece that just sets a wonderful mood. Not often found in a portrait, I don't think!
Hi Carrie ... I just love all your work ... it is really free ... looks so easy like you don´t plan for the end result which makes it intriguing ... I love your recent sketches they have an extra energy tht shows in every stroke of brush or pencil ... keep up the good work
Thank you ladies. Our group is finding this event an educational opportunity. We have a great time. I love having a glass of wine whilst doing a portrait!

ReplyDeleteHi Carrie,
ReplyDeleteI can't keep up! Your painting is so fresh and light. I guess wine helps! :-) Would love to join you all when I get down there ...
Happy painting!
great painting...and done in no time!
ReplyDeleteSuper! You got a lot done in a short amount of time. Happy hour looks very happy. Happy artists, doing good work. Terrific!
ReplyDeleteI keep stopping by this picture - I love the "drawing brushstrokes" of this. I'm trying to use this technique on a watercolor of mine this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThink this is great Carrie.
